The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) is the world’s most comprehensive education, rehabilitation and service program serving individuals of all ages who are Deaf, Blind, Deafblind and multi-disabled and their families. Founded in 1858, AIDB serves more than 30,000 infants, toddlers, children, adults and seniors with hearing and vision loss throughout Alabama each year. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Service Coordinator, you will provide case management, service coordination, and advocacy to consumers with and without sensory loss across Alabama. This role includes assessing consumer needs, developing service plans, coordinating referrals, conducting home visits, and connecting individuals with AIDB programs and community resources. You will also support the Supportive Housing Program, maintain accurate case records, conduct statewide outreach and educational presentations, build community partnerships, monitor program outcomes, and collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to improve service delivery.

You will play a vital role in the lives of AIDB consumers. You will need to be an organized, proactive professional with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. You must also manage a diverse caseload, assess individual needs, develop service plans, and coordinate services that promote independence. As a Service Coordinator, you must be comfortable conducting home visits, traveling throughout Alabama, and building collaborative relationships with consumers, community partners, and healthcare providers. This role requires strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to maintain accurate documentation, manage multiple priorities, and meet reporting requirements. This role also requires commitment to providing exceptional customer service, expanding community outreach, supporting statewide initiatives, and continuously developing your knowledge of resources and services available to consumers with and without sensory loss across Alabama.
