Job Summary:
The Service Greeter is the first point of contact for customers visiting the service department. This role is responsible for welcoming customers, directing them to the appropriate personnel, and ensuring a professional and friendly first impression. The Service Greeter supports the service team by assisting with vehicle intake, traffic flow, and customer needs, contributing to a positive overall service experience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet all customers promptly and courteously as they arrive at the service department.
- Assist customers with check-in by directing them to a service advisor or appropriate staff.
- Communicate with service advisors to ensure smooth traffic flow in the service drive.
- Maintain an organized and professional appearance in the service drive and waiting area.
- Provide general information and answer basic customer inquiries.
- Move or park customer vehicles as needed to assist with traffic flow (if applicable and licensed).
- Notify service staff of customer arrivals in a timely manner.
- Perform light clerical duties such as handing out forms, assisting with appointment confirmations, or providing updates.
- Support the dealership’s commitment to customer satisfaction by delivering a welcoming and helpful experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior customer service or front-line hospitality experience preferred.
- Professional appearance and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if vehicle movement is required).
- Friendly, courteous, and positive attitude with strong customer service orientation.
Work Environment:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to move, park, and retrieve vehicles as needed.
FLSA Status Clarification:
This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek. The employee is entitled to meal and rest breaks in accordance with applicable state and federal labor laws.
