The Service Manager will oversee the overall operations of the Service Department and fleet operations at the Madison location. You will actively participate in achieving car cleaning productivity objectives and the preparation of Avis and Budget vehicles according to company cleaning/detailing quality standards. The Service Manager will direct, motivate, and develop our Service Agent (Car Detailer) personnel who are responsible for producing exceptionally clean, quality vehicles. Additionally, this person has responsibility for our on-call and part-time shuttle drivers, who facilitate fleet movements between locations and vendors. The Service Manager is responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling of Drivers, Service Agents, Assistant Managers and Supervisors.
Managers are generally expected to work between 40-45 hours per week. The primary work week is Monday - Friday (days) with occasional night and weekend hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Hire, supervise, develop, motivate, and evaluate the performance of staff and supervisors.
Successfully establish, update, monitor and communicate objectives to the team.
Manage and monitor productivity of all personnel and location objectives.
Ensure supervisors and staff are properly trained, motivated, and coached for proper development and growth opportunities.
Monitor staffing schedules to compliment the business demands and needs.
Support of Midwestern Wheel’s Quality Assurance program to ensure vehicle quality is at a consistently high level.
Implement HR policies in the areas of accountability, motivation, and performance in a consistent and fair manner.
Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive compensation between $55,000 - $70,000 (Base + Bonus)

Requirements

Experience building a team with the ability to create a work environment that supports retention of staff and customer service delivery.
Exceptional leadership skills. Proven ability to train, motivate, influence and coach others.
Strong organizational, delegation and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines, hold teams accountable and follow up on all activities within area.

Must have a valid state driver’s license and no more than two moving violations in the last year and no more than three moving violations in the last three years.
No major violations, including drug or alcohol related convictions, on driving record in the past five years.
Prior experience with motor vehicles or passion for cars is helpful, but not required.
