Job Description - Service Manager



Pohanka Automotive Group of Salisbury Maryland Located in the Eastern Shore


 


Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for the automotive industry? Do you excel at building customer trust and motivating a high-performing team? We’re searching for an experienced Automotive Service Manager to join our growing dealership and drive our service department to new heights!


Key Responsibilities


Oversee daily operations of the service department to ensure efficiency and profitability


- Lead, coach, and develop a team of service advisors and technicians


- Deliver exceptional customer service, resolve concerns, and foster lasting relationships


- Monitor and achieve departmental goals for sales, productivity, and customer satisfaction


- Manage scheduling, workflow, and inventory to ensure timely and quality repairs

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service

  • Serve as a liaison between technicians and customers

  • Take ownership of the customer's experience by carrying out those additional assignments that allow the dealership to leave an positive impression with the customer

  • Manage and hire technicians and service advisors

  • Interview and make new hires

  • Distribute work between technicians

  • Prioritize required services

  • Ensure customer has a positive dealership experience

  • Provide concierge support for all owner inquiries, whether phone or in person, to assure the customer does not get mishandled

  • Spend quality time building relationships with the customers


REQUIREMENTS:



  • Technical automotive knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to manage others

  • Organized and friendly personality

  • Dealership experience preferred
