Job Description - Service Manager

The ideal candidate will bring senior leadership experience from the RV or similar industry and will have a deep working, operational knowledge of all facets of automotive or RV service departments (Or similar industry). They will have been highly successful in growing previous companies service segments. Candidate will be comfortable working in a hands-on creative position, as well as, overseeing/managing other employees and contractors. Candidate will have experience working to establish and execute on a shared strategic service segment growth vision with senior management and C-level personnel.

 

●        In depth knowledge and hands-on experience with service departments or similar operations.

●        Experience with building/training teams and assessing talent; evaluate all human capital needs.

●        Experience with managing all facets of repair facilities operations.

●        Proven experience navigating the growth of a consumer driven business while maintaining margins and controlling costs.

●        Proven track record in a path to payment environment.

●        Experience in being accountable for key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve operational and financial objectives.

●        Strategic, analytical and detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and people effectively.

●        Experience, appreciation, and passion for the outdoor recreation industry is a plus!

SERVICE PROFITABIILTY:

Consistently achieve agreed-upon service sales volume, productivity and profitability in ways that contribute to the company's continuing survival and growth.

·         Ensure the service department develops efficient and effective work order processes for External, Listing, Pending/Closing, Internal, and Warranty work orders.

·         Develop, monitor, and achieve the agreed-upon departmental business objectives (strategies, profit plan/budget and others) consistent with company policies, regulations, and expectations.

·         Develop and execute a successful marketing plan in coordination with the other departments.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: 

Manage, develop, and sustain a high level of employee performance and morale that result in a fulfilling and productive work environment.

·         Make sure employees are being effectively managed daily to maximize productivity and morale.

·         Assure the service department is properly staffed by recruiting, hiring, and promoting the right people for the right positions.

·         Optimize employee performance through effective ongoing evaluations, recognition, rewards, and discipline/corrective management practices to produce expected results.

·         Strengthen employee performance through timely training and development.

CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT:

Achieve and sustain a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty in ways that increase the loyalty and growth of current and new customers.

·         Ensure that the service team effectively communicates with customers in a timely way to produce positive results.

·         Develop, implement, and monitor ongoing actions to sustain high customer satisfaction and loyalty.

·         Successfully resolve customer complaints and problems in a timely manner.

·         401K plan in which the company participates: PPL will match 100% of every dollar put into the 401K plan, up to 4 percent of contributions.  Employee will be eligible for the 401K plan during the first open enrollment period following their first six months of employment.

·         Health Insurance Coverage.  As of January 2025, PPL offers a Cigna Healthcare insurance plan in which PPL pays ~$350.00 (Depending on plan selected) of the employee only coverage.  Employee becomes eligible on the first of the month after their first 60 days employment.  Initial enrollment, if employee chooses to participate, will be the 1st of the month after the employees has been employed 60 days.

·         Medical Reimbursement – Section 125

·         Holiday pay totaling 8 paid holidays per year

·         Vacation Pay (2 weeks after one year and 3 weeks after 10 years)

·         Salary Continuation for long term disability
