Job Description - Service Manager-Heavy Duty Truck Dealership

Interstate Truck Center - Stockton is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead our heavy duty truck dealership service department. Based in Stockton, CA, this position offers a competitive annual salary of $72,000.00, paid semi-monthly plus quarterly bonus. The ideal candidate will oversee daily service operations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, efficient workflow, and high-quality service delivery.


Responsibilities



  • Manage and coordinate the service department’s daily activities and workflow

  • Lead, train, and develop service technicians and staff to meet performance goals

  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers regarding repairs and service updates

  • Monitor and maintain high standards of service quality and safety compliance

  • Prepare and manage service budgets, cost controls, and department reporting

  • Collaborate with parts and sales departments to maximize overall dealership performance

  • Address and resolve customer concerns with professionalism and efficiency


Requirements



  • Proven 3 years experience within the last 5 years in service management within the heavy duty truck or automotive industry

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Must have experience managing/directing 15 plus employees (Technicians/Service Writers/Warranty/Clerical)

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities

  • Knowledge of heavy duty truck service operations, repair procedures, and industry standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities

  • Proficient with service management software and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must be able to implement and manage work schedules

  • Manage financial/accounting aspects of Service Department 

  • Ensure timely completion of service repair orders

  • Experience with CNG or alternative fuels a plus

  • Customer Service oriented mindset

  • Valid California driver's license and clean driving record
