Service Mechanic

We need to fill the position of Service Mechanic in Houston, TX.

Role Summary:

The Service Mechanic is responsible for executing preventative maintenance work orders and repair requests while on customer site and/or in our warehouse(s). The Service Mechanic will also maintain technical capabilities to ensure proficient, safe use of service equipment including not limited to: engine repair, steering and suspension adjustment, heating and air conditioning repair, small engine repair, pumps, unloaders, valve checks, pressure switches, burner oil replacement, oil and filter changes, transmission drain and fills, tire tread dept inspections, fluid level inspections, etc.

The Service Mechanic will ensure thorough safety and mechanical vehicle inspections are completed and documented for every vehicle assigned and maintain company directed productivity. This position also requires the ability to be in the field performing other Kept services as needed such as: pressure washing, truck/fleet washes, cart retrievals, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Provide full cycle on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, and tests which may include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and reassembly.

• Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements


• Assess and diagnose technical problems, determine proper solutions, and take actions to resolve them promptly with maximum reliability.


• Utilize mobile technology applications to complete service tickets, monitor timekeeping, submit reports, and manage expenses.


• Produce and maintain organized, accurate, and timely detailed service reports.


• Maintain an organized warehouse with all vehicles, tools, and equipment, ensure appropriate inventory levels are met, take physical inventory, and keep accurate inventory counts at all times.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Criminal Background and DMV record check


• Must have a high school diploma or GED,


• Must have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record


• Able to lift at least 50-70 LBS.

• Proficient use of power tools and diagnostic equipment

• Adapt to changing work schedules.

• Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in automotive repair or heavy equipment operation

• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.


• Must be willing and able to travel to different job locations

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


• Ability to work independently and/or as a part of a team.


• Strong customer service skills

• Basic welding and fabrication skills (preferred)

• DOT certified (preferred)


• ASE Certified (preferred)
