Service Porter

What does a Service Porter Do?

• Test drive vehicles


• Inventory receiving


• Drop off and pick up vehicles / parts from sublet shops


• Help maintain a clean and safe workspace / shop space


• Assist detail department with vehicle cleaning 


• Assist service advisors with ordering parts from suppliers both over the phone and online


• Assist service advisors with reviewing repair orders to ensure that work is completed
  


• Assist technicians with vehicle inspections
  


• Coordinate with management for other misc. tasks

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old


• Valid drivers's license required


• The ability to drive both automatic and manual shift vehicle


• Clarity of vision and hearing.


• Be able to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.


• Commitment to report to work on time and stay on task during shift


• Desire to treat each vehicle with great care and respect


• Ability to work as a team player and interact with customers, managers and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner.


• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions


• Position requires frequent movement; i.e. bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and getting into and out of various vehicles repeatedly during the work shift.


• Frequent and continual flexing of spine, hands, wrists and fingers.


• Must have proficient computer skills


• Knowledge of automotive maintenance/repairs is a plus


• Willingness to get hands dirty
