The Service SMOG technician inspects, service, and prepares new vehicles for sale according to factory and dealership standards, policies, and specifications.
Customer satisfaction is a result of your personal work habits and ethics and is of utmost importance as part of your job function. As a Service Smog Technician, the responsibility of customer satisfaction falls into the categories of completing the job correctly, cleanly, honestly, and on time.
The Service Smog Technician is also responsible for setting goals for personal service improvement and monitor progress against customer satisfaction index numbers and production numbers as provided by the Service Manager.
Employees in this position will be paid a base hourly wage ranging from $34/hr to $38/hr.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Performing Inspections, diagnostics and repairs on new cars and assist other technicians as needed.
• Perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all makes and models.
• Perform smog checks and repairs on vehicles in a timely and efficient manner.
• Keep up to date on changes to smog check requirements and regulations.
• Follow all safety protocols when performing smog checks.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on smog testing equipment.
• Calibrate smog testing equipment as needed.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Stay up to date on new technology and developments in the automotive industry.
• Attend trainings and seminars as needed to maintain smog certification.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Help promote a positive and professional image for the company.
