Starting Salary: Negotiable hourly rate (DOE)

The Opportunity: 
The Service Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining company vehicles. This position also performs inspections on machinery and equipment and maintains the shop in accordance with company policies. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance to include but not limited to:  PM services, air brake repairs, annual inspections, tires repairs, electrical diagnostics, suspension repairs, etc.   All in accordance to manufacture recommended guidelines.
  • Operate shop equipment and machinery in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Notify Shop & Transportation Manager of equipment malfunctions.
  • Documentation of work completed to comply with DOT regulations.
  • Move products between stations and shipping area as needed. Including loading and unloading of rail cars.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
  • Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Self-direction and motivation are also expected.
  • Must meet performance expectations and complete all duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills: 
  • 0-3 years of mechanical experience working with heavy duty trucks and equipment
  • Previous mechanical experience working on heavy duty truck and equipment preferred, but willing to train the right individual.
  • Previous experience in Welding is preferred
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Must be able to obtain Forklift certification
  • Knowledge of fuel, heating and oil and/or lubricant industry preferred
  • Diesel Mechanic certifications or background working in truck repair & maintenance
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations
