THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN STOCKTON, CA.

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform routine, emergency and repairs of industrial equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose industrial equipment based on observational and mechanical testing as well as information provided by the customer


• Troubleshoot problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions.


• Able to diagnose and repair mast and attachment components.


• Good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes.


• Ability to work on LP, gas, electric and diesel systems.


• Replace broken or defective parts


• Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation.


• Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released


• Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required.


• Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements.


• Maintain an organized and neat work area.


• Complete service report on each repair


• Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct all repairs


• Ability to operate diagnostic tools required


• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.


• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.


• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.


• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.


• Ability to fulfill the essential functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school or GED; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must have a valid driver license and a clean D.M.V. report and Forklift Operator Safety Certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud.

COMPENSATIONS 

Pay Range: $21.61 to 37.33 Hourly

Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability.

Hourly rate of pay as negotiated with Operating Engineers, Local #3.  Excellent company-paid benefits including medical, dental, retirement, vacations and holidays.
