Position Overview

Toyota of Bourbonnais is seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Service Technician to join our service department.

The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair skills, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Previous Toyota or Lexus experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• 
  

  Diagnose, maintain, and repair customer vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.

  Perform repairs and maintenance services accurately and efficiently as outlined on repair orders.

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct vehicle inspections and identify necessary maintenance or repairs.

  
  


• 
  

  Utilize diagnostic tools, electronic testing equipment, and specialty service tools to troubleshoot vehicle concerns.

  
  


• 
  

  Test-drive vehicles as necessary to diagnose concerns and verify completed repairs.

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding vehicle conditions, recommended repairs, and estimated completion times.

  
  


• 
  

  Perform warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  
  


• 
  

  Follow dealership safety procedures and manufacturer service guidelines.

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum of two years of automotive service technician experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Toyota or Lexus experience preferred but not required.

  
  


• 
  

  ASE certification preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostic, repair, and maintenance procedures.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment and automotive specialty tools.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  
  


• 
  

  Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company insurability requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

  
  

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $33.30 to $51.30 hourly

Benefits:  medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid leave.

This is a union-represented position covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Applicable wages, benefits, and certain terms and conditions of employment are governed by that agreement.
