Job Description Summary:  MES Life Safety is seeking a Hydro Service Technician that will specialize in inspecting, testing, and maintaining 3M/Scott Safety SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) equipment used by firefighters and emergency responders. This role will conduct thorough inspections, identify any issues or defects, and ensure the integrity and safety of 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment through hydrostatic testing.

Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities:  Inspect 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment visually to identify wear, damage, or degradation signs.

  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment.
  • Ensure that equipment follows safety and regulatory standards. 
  • Perform hydrostatic testing on 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment to ensure they can withstand the required pressure levels without failure. 
  • Conduct flow tests to verify that the 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment delivers consistent airflow. 
  • Adjust or repair components to ensure proper flow rates. 
  • Monitor and assess pressure test results to confirm the integrity and safety of the 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment. 
  • Repair or replace damaged or worn components. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing activities. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during testing. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers by addressing their concerns or questions. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent 
  • REAL-ID is required to work in Federal sites. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in hydrostatic testing or related field is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment is a plus, but we will train!

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills to interact with clients professionally and effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and stand for long periods. 
  • Manual dexterity to work with small parts. 

Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday 

Work Location: In person; Tempe, AZ 85281 


Salary Description

$22.00 per hour
