Join Our Team at Elm Chevrolet – Experienced Service Advisor/Writer

Elm Chevrolet is looking for an experienced Service Advisor/Writer to join our busy service department in Elmira, NY.

Previous automotive service advising/writing experience is required. This is not an entry-level position. Applicants without relevant automotive service experience will not be considered.

We’re looking for someone who understands how a dealership service department operates, communicates well with customers and technicians, and can keep things moving in a fast-paced shop.

What You’ll Do

• Greet customers and discuss their vehicle concerns and service needs.


• Write accurate repair orders and estimates.


• Explain recommended repairs, maintenance, and associated costs.


• Schedule and prioritize work to maintain efficient shop flow.


• Communicate with technicians regarding diagnosis, repairs, and completion times.


• Keep customers informed throughout the repair process.


• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.


• Address customer questions and concerns professionally.


• Use dealership software to schedule appointments, manage repair orders, and process completed work.


• Follow up with customers to ensure a positive service experience.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous Service Advisor/Writer or directly related automotive service experience is required.


• Working knowledge of vehicle systems, repairs, and maintenance.


• Strong customer service and communication skills.


• Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and technicians.


• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.


• Ability to work efficiently in a busy service department.


• Basic computer skills and the ability to use dealership software.


• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
