Background:
MTC is based in Frederick, Maryland and provides systems integration services to the U.S. Federal Government by implementing both Cloud based ServiceNow platform as a service (PaaS) software and application plugin software, Nuvolo, for Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) functionality. The IWMS solution will meet the current and future needs of the Public Sector/federal agencies by providing critical administrative digitized workflow activities for Facilities Asset Management, Space Management, Capital Project Management, and other related workplace management business processes.

The Senior Test Engineer/Lead is responsible for working within a fast paced, Agile team to verify and validate changes made to the Cloud ServiceNow platform and Nuvolo application software-as-a-Service (SaaS) system, as well as develop and document more efficient and modern test techniques and processes.
The Test Engineer will lead the testing process for all developers and test analysts throughout each sprint development lifecycle. The Test Engineer will perform both manual and automated, as appropriate, validation tests of the software throughout the development sprint lifecycle (i.e. configuration, development, support, and maintenance of the ServiceNow-Nuvolo application). He/She will work with external and internal stakeholders to understand and confirm the delivery of the digital transformation solutions with emphasis on ServiceNow upgrades, Nuvolo Integrated Workplace Management Solutions (IWMS) application and modules.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with the team to ensure delivery of quality software using Agile Scrum development and test practices.
- Analyze functional and technical capability requirements and collaborate with the QA Lead, architects, and developers to ensure verifiable implementations.
- Perform manual test case creation, test execution, and test reporting during normal sprint cycles.
- Create automation tests utilizing the ServiceNow’s Automation Test Framework (ATFs) for regression testing, as appropriate.
- Support identifying the testable acceptance criteria in user stories.
- Test ServiceNow capabilities developed as part of user stories defined in the sprint plan.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Government tester with development and execution of test procedures.
- Participate in sprint reviews to address testing results.
- Participate in sprint planning sessions.
- Translating and interpreting functional requirements into test cases.
- Perform regression testing, covering full suite of Operational Test Scenarios for builds and/or images to be delivered to customer.
- Prepare test report summarizing test results including anomalies, systems errors, and configuration changes.
- Support the software configuration management process and understand software components and their interface requirements.
- Develop detailed test plans, test data, and define test acceptance criteria.
- Support customer demonstration, data prep and UAT activities.
- Use the Atlassian Jira tool to document and maintain all testing updates and creation of defects.
- Assist in maintaining the validation portion of the requirements traceability for software systems (RVTM).
- Works with and mentors junior developers to guide and coach them throughout each project.
Basic Qualifications
- Requires a US Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8 – 10 years of relevant test management experience.
- Manual test management and testing automation experience
- Experience with agile development and testing methodologies.
- The ability to work on a multidisciplinary team.
- Willing to assist and train junior testers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possesses 3-5 years’ experience working with application implementation on the ServiceNow platform.
- Prior knowledge and experience with ServiceNow’s ATFs
- Nuvolo application experience
- Understanding of ITIL foundation or ITIL certified
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
