Job Description - Services Capital Allocation and Management, Lead Analyst VP

Citi Services is one of Citi’s five interconnected businesses and at the heart of Citi’s global network. Citi Services includes Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) and Securities Services. TTS provides an integrated suite of Liquidity, Payments and Trade/Working Capital solutions to multinational corporations, financial institutions, public sector organizations and increasingly mid-sized corporate clients. Securities Services provides global institutional clients a wide range of solutions, including custody, fund services, execution services and issuer services. These are supported by our extensive on-the-ground local market expertise, innovative post-trade technologies, customized data solutions and a wide range of securities services solutions that can be tailored to meet clients’ needs.

Balance Sheet and Capital Management (BSCM) is a specialized team responsible for ensuring an effective and efficient use of Services’ balance sheet with the goal of improving return on capital measures. Key benefits include development of specialized Liquidity and Capital knowledge, experience developing and executing complex analytical processes, exposure to senior leadership and multiple products across Services, and working in a rewarding, creative, and dynamic environment.

This position will play a critical role in Services’ Balance Sheet strategy by driving effective allocation of Liquidity and FTP across business and clients. The successful candidate will report to Head of BSCM, Trade & Working Capital Solutions and will expand current Liquidity and FTP initiatives to a Services-wide level as well as working on new initiatives to optimize funding and liquidity costs, driving improved returns

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis required to develop Liquidity and FTP allocation methodologies, in partnership with Business and Corporate Treasury

  • Build processes to check that Treasury charges are implemented correctly and in alignment with allocation methodologies

  • Prepare Senior Management presentations for regular management information requests

  • Build data and analytics capabilities to support efficient and repeatable analysis

  • Over time, become a Liquidity and Balance Sheet SME, supporting the broader Services business

Competencies:

  • Required to dive into details, to support and drive development of a robust methodology for Services’ FTP allocation

  • Comfortable manipulating different data sources to analyze and answer business problems

  • Innovation mind set and intellectual curiosity; ability to design automated technology solutions to answer business problems

  • Deep understanding of the linkages between Balance sheet, Liquidity, FTP & Capital

  • Ability to connect business strategy with Liquidity and funding costs and understand the complex end-to-end data process in order to make recommendations

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

  • Extremely high attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to partner well with a range of stakeholders in the firm to drive objectives to delivery, strong interpersonal skills to identify and resolve conflict to mitigate roadblocks

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred, with significant qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Math, Financial Engineering, Physics, or related field

  • 6+ years relevant experience in the Financial Services Industry

  • Understanding of Financial instruments and Products as well as Risk and Corporate Banking functions

  • Expertise in US liquidity regulation and FTP concepts; exposure to Citi’s internal allocation methodologies is a plus

  • Proven analytical skills for executing data analysis

  • Highly proficient in Excel / PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of Tableau / SQL / Python (or similar) a plus

  • A demonstrated history of delivering on initiatives

  • Highly motivated with attention to detail, team oriented, and strong organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills with key stakeholders and senior management

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$142,320.00 - $213,480.00
