About Seton College:
Seton College is a new two-year college division of UMSV that will offer an associate’s degree for 100 students that have been historically underserved, who may require additional academic support, and who are motivated for post-secondary success annually beginning in the 2024–25 academic year. The program’s goal is to prepare students to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program or to begin their professional careers. Job description:
Reporting to the Dean of Seton College, this position serves as Seton College’s primary admissions professional, identifying and recruiting prospective students for Seton College. This position works collaboratively with the University of Mount Saint Vincent’s Enrollment Division; leading and coordinating all recruitment initiatives for Seton College and establishing a robust enrollment pipeline.
Responsibilities:
Serve as Seton College’s primary admissions professional; manage all aspects of the recruitment and admissions process.
Engage in ongoing, regular, and personalized communications using multiple means with prospective students and families.
Interview prospective students; evaluate and recommend admission decisions on all applications.
Develop compelling recruitment materials in collaboration with marketing/communications and the Dean of Seton College.
Develop, execute, and participate in programming for recruitment, yield and orientation events, including but not limited to information sessions, open houses, accepted student events and others.
Coordinate campus visits with students and their families, organize and host admissions events for students and their families.
Travel extensively in assigned recruitment territory, representing Seton College and the University at community programs, high schools, college fairs and other events with prospective students.
Develop and manage partnerships with feeder high schools and community-based organizations to increase enrollment; build effective relationships with high school counseling staff, community partners and others.
Maintain records and prospective student information in the University’s systems for recruitment and applicant records, ensuring proper documentation and tracking progress through the recruitment cycle. Analyze progress against goals for assigned territory and provide periodic update reports.
Work closely in partnership with on-campus offices including the Undergraduate College Admissions Office, the Financial Aid Office, the Office of Student Services, and the Office of Academic Affairs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree
3-5 years of related experience in recruitment, admission, and student advising.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and organization skills
Oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and follow up protocols.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel is required; familiarity with admissions systems (Slate, Ellucian, Banner and Argos) are desirable.
Strong knowledge of NYC area high school landscape.
Comfortable in a dynamic startup environment that includes significant amounts of autonomy. Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Passionate about access, affordability, and equity in higher education.
Ability to form effective working relationships.
A driver’s license in good standing is required for extensive travel within the NYC metro area.
Ability to work at evening and weekend events.
Bi/Multilingual is preferred.
