Job Description - Sewer & Excavation Crew Foreman

Now Hiring: Sewer & Excavation Crew Foreman
Location: Valparaiso, IN
Pay: $30–$40/hour base + performance-based commission

We are looking for an experienced Supervisor / Crew Lead Excavator & Installer to join our growing team in Valparaiso, Indiana. This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing sewer repair and septic system installation projects from start to finish. If you have a strong background in excavation, septic, and sewer work — along with the leadership skills to run a crew — we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing:

Lead and manage a 3-person crew on septic field installations and sewer repairs

Operate equipment including excavators and skid steers

Conduct pre-job planning and ensure projects are executed to pre-designed plans

Use transit/laser levels to shoot grades in alignment with drawings

Interact with CRM software (ServiceTitan) to document work progress and communicate with the office

Ensure superior customer service throughout the project lifecycle

Maintain jobsite safety and efficiency

What We’re Looking For:

5+ years of experience in sewer repair and septic system installation

Proven leadership skills in managing field crews

Strong excavator and earth-moving equipment experience

Ability to read and execute plans, use a transit/laser to shoot grades

Valid CDL license to tow equipment (required)

Technologically savvy with the ability to document projects via CRM (ServiceTitan)

Experience in any of the following is highly valued:
- Pre-treatment, drip, or aeration-type septic systems
- City sewer main tapping
- Pipe bursting
- Slip lining
- Installing new water service lines (specify up to what size)

Additional Requirements:

Excellent customer service and organizational skills

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive base pay: $30–$40 per hour (DOE)

Performance pay based on project completion rates
