Sewing Technician

The Sewing Machine Technician is responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining both automated and manual sewing equipment. This role ensures equipment is running safely and efficiently to meet the site's operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Setup and Maintenance:
  
  
  
  • Set up sewing machines for production runs, ensuring all equipment is ready for scheduled operations.
  
  
  • Conduct routine troubleshooting and repairs to ensure all machines are operating efficiently.
  
  
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all sewing equipment, addressing potential issues before they impact production.
  
  
  
  


• Emergency and Scheduled Repairs:
  
  
  
  • Provide immediate repairs on sewing equipment during production in response to urgent breakdowns or malfunctions.
  
  
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service periods to minimize downtime and enhance machine performance.
  
  
  
  


• Troubleshooting and Repairs:
  
  
  
  • Handle mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs on both automated and manual sewing machines.
  
  
  • Use diagnostic tools and methods to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
  
  
  
  


• Compliance and Safety:
  
  
  
  • Follow OSHA safety and health guidelines, ensuring all maintenance and repairs are conducted safely.
  
  
  • Work according to company safety and quality standards, ensuring the work environment is compliant and hazard-free.
  
  
  
  


• Documentation and Reporting:
  
  
  
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete maintenance tasks.
  
  
  • Document maintenance activities and machine repairs, ensuring accurate records for future reference.
  
  
  
  


• Work Environment:
  
  
  
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  
  
  • Communicate effectively with the production team to minimize machine downtime and optimize workflow.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in working with automated sewing machines.


• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting mechanical and pneumatic systems.

Skills:

• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders.


• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.
