Fork Union Military Academy is a private, Christian, all-boys boarding military school located in the scenic heart of Central Virginia, serving grades 7–12 and postgraduate students. We are seeking a Health/PE Instructor who can deliver strong instruction in physical education and health, maintain structured learning environments, and contribute to a mission-driven school community.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned Health and Physical Education courses


• Develop and implement lesson plans, curriculum, and assessments aligned with Health/PE standards


• Lead physical activities that promote fitness, teamwork, and personal accountability


• Provide timely, constructive feedback and assess student progress in both health knowledge and physical performance


• Instruct students on health topics such as nutrition, wellness, and healthy decision-making


• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student well-being

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Physical Education, or a related field (required)


• Prior teaching experience, preferably in secondary education (strongly preferred)


• Virginia teaching license or eligibility (strongly preferred)


• Strong communication and classroom/activity management skills

Work Environment

This position operates within a structured, student-centered boarding school environment and includes both classroom-based health instruction and active physical education settings. Regular interaction with cadets, faculty, and residential staff is expected. Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities may be required.
