Sheet Metal Fabricator

Job Summary

The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for the layout, fabrication, assembly, and preparation of custom sheet metal components used in commercial HVAC systems and related construction projects. This role ensures precision craftsmanship, adherence to safety standards, and production quality that supports both Ibis Fabrication.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical skill, attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and the ability to collaborate effectively with field teams and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

· Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications

· Measure, cut, bend, and assemble sheet metal using fabrication tools and machinery

· Operate equipment such as brakes, shears, rollers, plasma cutters, and welders

· Fabricate ductwork, fittings, and specialty metal components to specification

· Perform quality checks to ensure precision and adherence to tolerances

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment

· Track materials and communicate supply needs

· Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines

Qualifications

Required

· 2+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience (commercial HVAC preferred)

· Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints

· Proficiency using fabrication tools and shop equipment

· Strong understanding of measurement and layout techniques

· High attention to detail and craftsmanship

Preferred

· Experience in commercial HVAC duct fabrication

· Welding certification

· Experience in a fabrication shop environment
