The Sheet Metal Mechanic is a crucial role responsible for the installation, assembly, and maintenance of metal and fiberglass board HVAC systems. This includes working with various types of ductwork and ensuring that all installations meet the required specifications and standards. The role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings accurately.
Required:
Minimum of 6 months experience in sheet metal and fiberglass duct work installation on commercial and residential projects.
Possess own sheet metal hand tools; company supplies power tools.
Ability to follow job-site instructions accurately and promptly.
Capable of lifting heavy materials and comfortable working at heights.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledgeable about the HVAC industry and aware of the company's competitors.
Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the primary scope of work when necessary.
Preferred:
OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements:
Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
Capable of climbing stairs.
Flexibility to move into different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Proficiency in operating machinery and/or power tools.
Willingness to work in outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
Comfortable working in a noisy environment.
Ability to perform light to heavy work, including adjusting and/or moving objects ranging from 20-100 pounds.
Travel Requirements:
Safe and reliable transportation to and from work.
0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s) or office location.
