Sheet Metal Shop Manager

We are seeking a hands-on Sheet Metal Shop Manager to oversee daily production, quality control, safety, and workforce development within our commercial HVAC fabrication shop. This leadership role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on operations while working with an experienced team in a growing organization. The opportunity is ideal for experienced Sheet Metal Foreman, Shop Supervisors, Production Leads or Fabrication Managers looking to step into a larger leadership role.

Your Impact

As the Sheet Metal Shop Manager, you will be responsible for leading fabrication operations, improving efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed on time to support commercial HVAC installations.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily operations of the HVAC sheet metal fabrication shop
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate production to meet project deadlines
• Supervise, train, and develop shop employees
• Maintain high standards for quality, productivity, and workmanship
• Oversee fabrication of:
  • HVAC ductwork
  • Control boxes
  • Furnace casings
  • Drainpipe assemblies
  • Custom sheet metal components
• Review shop drawings, specifications, and fabrication plans
• Ensure work meets project requirements and industry standards
• Manage shop inventory, materials, and purchasing requirements
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of shop equipment
• Monitor workflow and labor efficiency
• Partner with project managers, field teams, contractors, and engineers
• Enforce OSHA safety standards and PPE compliance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the shop

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience
• Previous leadership experience as a Supervisor, Foreman, Lead, or Manager
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC sheet metal fabrication processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings
• Experience managing multiple projects and production schedules
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing a commercial HVAC fabrication shop
• Knowledge of CNC fabrication equipment and automation
• Experience with AutoDesk Fabrication CADmep, CAMduct, Trimple, Stratus, Vulcan, or similar fabrication software
• Experience integrating CNC equipment with fabrication software platforms
• Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience
• HVAC, sheet metal, or construction-related certifications or education
