Trade Team is looking for Sheetmetal Loft Mechanics in Jacksonville, FL.
This is LOCAL ONLY
MUST have sheetmetal experience in the shipyard.
MUST pass a 10 year background check.
PAY: Sheetmetal Loft - $22.00
Sheetmetal Loft Description:
This position is responsible for performing, with minimal supervision, tasks associated with designing and creating workstation drawings for the fabrication of components and assemblies that are used for alterations and repairs on Navy Ships, Military Sealift Command, and commercial projects. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of ship terminology, blueprint reading, measurements, and the ability to interpret job specifications and drawings. The qualifications and general capabilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability desired by the shipyard. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. High school degree or equivalent (GED), or completion of vocational training (certificate) in a related field. 2. Six (6) years of related experience, three (3) of which were in the maritime environment. 3. Must have held the position of loftsperson within the last three (3) years or completed lofting vocational training. 4. Must have some experience repairing and installing shipboard habitability spaces including: berthing equipment; galley equipment; ventilation ducting (heating and cooling).
