Shift Manager Tin Mill

Shift Manager Tin Mill: responsible on a shift basis for oversight of the Tin Mill operations and systems. The primary function is to maximize the up-time of the Tin Mill equipment. This includes utilizing personnel efficiently, coordinating material movement, ensuring quality standards are being met, and the workforce is performing in a safe manner. Reacts to repair, production, and/or quality issues in a timely manner to maximize the life of equipment (increased reliability) and to minimize the cost associated with upkeep of the equipment. Strong communication and people skills are necessary, as well as working a rotating 12-hour schedule including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:Directs hourly workforce on Tin Mill production units (Continuous Anneals, Batch Anneal, Temper Mills, Tin/Chrome Platers, Side Trimmers, and Packaging) on a shift basis. Maintains production at or above specified target for the assigned area. Works closely with production planning and logistics to remove barriers to production. Coordinates and helps Environmental Shift manager with operational issues. Troubleshoots and addresses quality issues on production units. Coordinates repairs with the Maintenance Shift Manager and the MTs in the area. Develops trouble-shooting skills of hourly workforce. Preliminary accident investigation/documentation on back turns. Communicate ongoing issues to Tin Mill operations/maintenance/quality managers.
