Overview
The Shift Manager plays a vital leadership role within each Dunkin' location, directly supporting the Store Manager and team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. This hands-on position involves overseeing store operations during assigned shifts, coaching team members, driving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with company policies and brand standards.
Shift Managers are expected to lead with confidence, communicate effectively, and model a high level of integrity. They help create a workplace environment that prioritizes teamwork, guest satisfaction, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
- Supervise and motivate team members throughout the shift to deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service.
- Assign roles and responsibilities based on crew strengths and shift needs.
- Communicate expectations, provide real-time feedback, and recognize achievements.
- Foster a respectful and positive work environment, aligned with company values.
Training & Development
- Support the onboarding and training of new Crew Members.
- Reinforce the use of tools, procedures, and training systems during shifts.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and help team members develop their skills.
Operational Execution
- Monitor shift execution to ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Lead shift deployment to meet service standards and customer demand.
- Ensure marketing initiatives and restaurant standards are properly executed.
- Report equipment issues and support basic troubleshooting where applicable.
Guest Service & Problem Solving
- Role model a guest-first attitude, responding promptly and professionally to concerns.
- Drive a sense of urgency to exceed guest expectations.
- Resolve in-the-moment challenges with sound judgment and clear communication.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in quick-service, fast food, or hospitality preferred
- Prior supervisory or shift leadership experience strongly encouraged
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead by example and hold team members accountable
