Job Description - Shift Production Supervisor - Hot Job

Description The Production Supervisor will report to the Production Manager as their immediate contact person. Supervises employees in a manufacturing environment: plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, safety, operating procedures and working conditions. Will be responsible for employees and production assigned to night shift.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following:
Conducting daily production meetings with employees.
Ensuring product integrity / quality throughout production by using HACCP and Quality Control Points established
Ensuring equipment and product utilization based on limiting down time and equipment optimal speed
Ensuring product quality by meeting all set specifications and the formulations.
Ensuring their specific production line is functioning as designed from beginning to end
Responsible for training of all employees on shift
Ensuring finished product specifications are being followed by employees i.e., correct labels, date codes, case stickers, etc.
Signing off on the production sheet before and after each production run.
Overseeing start-ups, set-ups, changeovers and shutdowns
Facilitating communication between departments.
Verification of any other form or paperwork used on the production floor is being completed correctly.
Overseeing the training and utilization of the Utility Techs to optimize production efficiency, reduce downtime, and speed changeovers and line cleanings.
Managing and participating in projects as assigned
Ensuring that all areas are appropriately prepared for a smooth shift transition
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements
2 - 3 Years Supervisory Experience: Including employee hiring and retention, performance review and discipline
Food or Beverage Manufacturing Industry experience highly preferred
Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
Planning: an ability to think ahead and prepare actions to achieve results
Ability to measure performance to goals and standards
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Problem analysis and resolution skills
Ability to achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and employee relations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong team player
B.A. Business/ Sciences or will take work related experiences in lieu of education
