River Market Community Co-op is hiring a Full Time Manager on Duty (Cashier)!

Experience-based pay ranging from: $17.00 - $18.25 per hour

Weekend availability required. Candidates without availability to work on Saturday and Sunday will not be considered.

Work for a community-owned grocery store in downtown Stillwater and help support a sustainable local food system. River Market Community Co-op is seeking an experienced retail or grocery cashier who possesses leadership skills and experience. Have you held titles like Keyholder, Shift Lead, Supervisor, or taken on leadership or supervisory responsibilities at your previous retail or grocery cashiering jobs? Reports to: Customer Service Manager

Job Duties:

  • Lead smooth operation of store during shift according to Customer Service Manager’s direction.
  • Ensures the securing of assets, safety of employees exiting the store in twos, and the proper locking of the store when closing.
  • Responsible for the security and safety of all cash handling and bank deposits as well as the opening procedures of the store in the morning.
  • Ensure employees follow guidelines set forth in the Employee Handbook, especially with regard to dress code and break policies.
  • Assist with providing breaks and cover for absent employees.
  • Models to staff the commitment to customer excellence.

Requirements

  • Must be able to make decisions quickly and efficiently, work under pressure, prioritize and as always with consideration for staff and customers
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar working environment
  • Performs basic arithmetic including counting, addition and subtraction
  • Computer literate, including but not limited to: MS Office-Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Experience with POS systems preferred
  • Must be available for various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: Must be physically able to occasionally grasp, grip, pull, push, twist, 

and turn as needed.     

Constant (67-100%): Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting and reaching waist to shoulder, talking, hearing, correctable vision including near acuity and depth perception

Frequent (34-66%): Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds floor to waist

Occasional (1-33%): Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds floor to waist, lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance floor to waist, lifting and reaching above the shoulder

Approximately 15% of the time: Administrative duties, sitting
