Position Summary
Ensure timely and accurate movement of materials to support production and shipping operations while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Outcomes/Responsibilities
Outcome: Ensure Accuracy and On-Time Execution of Complex Shipments
Actions:
- Consistently achieve 98%+ order fulfillment accuracy by managing high-volume, priority, and international shipments.
- Lead the preparation, verification, and release of shipments that require advanced handling such as temperature-sensitive goods or regulated hazardous materials.
- Ensure shipping documents, packaging, and labeling exceed compliance standards (DOT, OSHA, IATA, IMDG).
- Resolve shipping issues proactively to avoid missed deadlines.
- Serve as the primary executor of SAP PGI transactions, quality holds, and non-standard order processing.
Outcome: Champion Safety and Regulatory Compliance
Actions:
- Models compliance with PPE and hazardous materials protocols; lead safety talks and serve as a peer safety observer.
- Own corrective/preventative action plans identified during 6S and safety audits.
- Conduct pre- and post-shipment inspections to verify full compliance with all documentation, labeling, and material handling rules.
- Act as a go-to responder for spills, system flags, or shipping nonconformances and coach others through resolution.
- Train new team members on internal safety procedures
Outcome: Drive Inventory Accuracy and Warehouse Efficiency
Actions:
- Serve as a super user for RF scanning and SAP warehouse functions, including inventory adjustments and bin transfers.
- Lead cycle count efforts and troubleshoot variances or material misplacements.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve warehouse layout and material flow.
- Partner with inventory control to close systemic gaps in inventory accuracy.
Outcome: Lead Equipment Operation and Preventative Maintenance
Actions:
- Operate all warehouse equipment safely and skillfully, including MHE, and yard tractors.
- Conduct and document full equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance needs with reliability teams.
- Train and certify other associates on safe and efficient equipment usage.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance schedules and asset management strategies.
- Clean and prepare equipment for LO/TO
- LO/TO equipment in compliance with BPSMS standards for maintenance to perform repair operations
- Safely and effectively execute track-mobile functions to support rail movements
- Contribute to all Cadets rail movement operations while maintaining safety
- Timely change out and monitoring of field equipment such as pumps, filters and field automation
- Timely notification and identification of loading times out of process control so that deeper investigation can begin.
Outcome: Collaborate Across Functions and Mentor Others
Actions:
- Serve as the lead interface with Customer Service, Quality, and Planning to resolve shipping issues quickly.
- Train and mentor entry-level shippers and cross-train peers across key shipping workflows.
- Lead or support kaizen events, process mapping, or Lean initiatives tied to shipping and material flow.
- Provide insight to improve SOPs, training guides, and compliance checklists.
- Support and provide feedback for Cadet PHA’s, LOPA’s and RBPS audits.
Outcome: Coordinate Yard & Trailer Logistics
Actions:
- Manage the schedule and safe execution of trailer movement between dock doors, tanks, and staging areas.
- Maintain an onsite inventory of dropped trailers used for loading and storage
- Validate trailer readiness for shipping/receiving and troubleshoot space or flow issues.
- Serve as the point of contact for logistics providers during peak or complex dock operations.
Outcome: Expert in Shipping Documentation and SAP Functions
Actions:
- Prepare and audit all domestic and international shipping documentation, including BOLs, DGDs, CCIs, NAFTA certifications, and export declarations.
- Validate and release COAs, match test data, and ensure compliance with both customer and internal specs.
- Troubleshoot SAP order issues, batch record mismatches, or document misalignments.
- Recommend system or workflow changes to improve SAP efficiency and reduce errors.
Basic Qualifications
- Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Job Experience: 4-6 years
- Strong SAP, RF scanning and inventory systems proficiency
- Expert in hazardous material handling and regulatory documentation.
- Experience working in a PSM facility
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and communications skills.
- Forklift and yard truck certification required
