Shipping and Kitting Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping and Kitting Manager to lead our logistics and fulfillment team. This role will oversee all aspects of kitting, packaging, and shipping operations to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate fulfillment of orders. The ideal candidate will be skilled in team leadership, process optimization, and maintaining high standards for quality and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage Kitting and Assembly Operations
  • Oversee kitting processes to ensure all products are accurately assembled and packaged according to order       specifications.
  • Develop and implement kitting guidelines to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor quality control standards throughout the kitting process.
  • Create new process’s to reduce internal cost’s due to reshipping and inaccurate picks.
• Shipping and Fulfillment
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipping of products to customers.
  • Coordinate with shipping carriers to maintain strong relationships and optimize cost-effective shipping solutions.
  • Resolve any issues related to shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Submit shipping claims to carriers for reimbursement.
  • Implement a status sheet for tracking of all refunds and report to leadership.
• Inventory and Stock Management
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all kitting and shipping supplies.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to order supplies as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Maintain inventory tracking and control procedures to ensure inventory is accurate and up to date.
• Team Leadership
  • Supervise, train, and mentor the kitting and shipping team, fostering a culture of accountability and productivity.
  • Assign daily tasks and set performance goals to meet productivity and accuracy standards.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members and report to leadership.
• Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to streamline kitting, packaging, and shipping workflows.
  • Work with management to develop and implement process improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics and report on progress to senior leadership.
• Health, Safety, and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all kitting and shipping operations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
  • Train staff on proper handling and safety practices.

Requirements

Qualifications – Education, Experience, License/Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in kitting, shipping, or logistics, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software, including ship station.
• Ability to communicate effectively and lead a team.
• Bi-Lingual (preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. (Must have)

Physical Requirements

• Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, and move around the kitting and shipping areas for extended periods, including an entire shift.
• Strength: Ability to lift, carry, and move packages and materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly. Occasionally lift or move items exceeding 50 pounds with assistance or equipment.
• Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers for assembling kits, packaging items, operating tools, and handling materials.
• Visual Requirements: Ability to read and verify shipping labels, inventory documents, kitting instructions, and computer screens with accuracy.
• Hearing and Communication: Ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions, alarms, and team interactions in a warehouse environment. Effective verbal communication skills for supervising and training team members.
• Environmental Tolerance: Ability to work in a warehouse environment exposed to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and moving machinery.
• Postural Activities: Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching to assemble kits, package goods, or organize inventory.
• Coordination and Precision: Ability to handle materials and operate tools with precision to ensure quality and safety during kitting and shipping operations.
• Cognitive Requirements: Ability to maintain focus, multitask, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Safety Awareness: Capability to follow and enforce safety protocols and ensure team compliance with health and safety regulations.

Compensation:

The base compensation range for this full-time position is $60,000-75,000 per year plus benefits. Compensation ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
