Job Description - Shipping & Packaging Assistant

Position Location: Carlisle, OH
Reporting Relationship: Plant Manager

Lake Country Manufacturing, Inc is looking for a Shipping and Packaging Assistant. This candidate will need to be a reliable and adaptable general labor worker who can also help with coordinating and assit in shipping & packaging finished goods as well as be a general shop floor floater running machines when shipping & packaging has been completed. This candidate will need strong work ethics and an eye for quality. Due to the nature of our products, the work is not physically demanding. This position will require the employee to stand or sit depending on station for 8-10 hours daily. Employees are rotated and cross trained on all stations regularly to increase productivity and efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities:

Must exhibit the core values of Lake Country Manufacturing (Learning, Trust, Family, Teamwork, Entrepreneurial Spirit)
Executing supervisor’s daily work instructions in a timely manner as well as overseeing daily production
Be able to read orders and pick tickets and pack the proper product and prepare finished goods for shipping
Meeting or exceeding productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards
Having an good understanding for quality inspection and detail oriented for product label making and printing
Be the Go-To person on the shop floor for questions and concerns with shipping and packaging finished goods.
Communicate all feedback to the plant manager with quality concerns or product issues that arise.
Lifting and carrying materials (up to 50lbs.) as needed
Operating manual material handling equipment such as hand jacks and wheeled carts safely
Maintaining the work area keeping it clean, safe, and organized

You’ll Need To Have:

- Ideally Manufacturing and Product Packaging / Shipping experience
- Strong basic mathematics skills
- The ability to effectively utilize basic measurement devices
- Willingness to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn auto bagging equipment and other machines on the floor
- Good communication skills and ability to work on a computer, printing job specific labels

Pay Rate: $17 / Hour - bi-weekly pay

Shift: 1^st Shift 7AM – 3:30PM – 40 hours per week
