Job Description

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for a variety of tasks, including customer service, inventory management, and shipping and receiving. They greet customers upon arrival, verify incoming materials, and coordinate the shipping and delivery of finished products. Additionally, they generate packing slips, assign unique identification numbers to products, and review orders prior to accepting. This is done by determining Dav-Tech's ability to meet the contractual requirements, performs a risk analysis, and when parts are accompanied with prints, confirms the revision of the print. This position creates detailed work orders in Visual Shop and forwards parts to the appropriate departments. They also contribute to process improvement by developing and maintaining work instructions and integrating sample plans into contract review.

• Enter beginning information of customer’s job into computer system to start the process of the incoming job.
• Greet customers
• Verify incoming products/materials with appropriate documentation 
• Coordinate shipping, delivery, and pick-up of customer product 
• Organize the loading dock
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Screening/entering the beginning information on travelers
• Putting together and packaging product for out trucks and customer trucks
• Calculate square inches 
• Read Blueprints
• Measure thickness with a micrometer
• Measure with tape measure
• Microsoft Office & Visual Shop
• Understanding how to perform Risk Analysis on customer product.
• Sampling Procedure 
• Be familiar with all finish names and/or specification names offered at Dav-Tech.

Job Qualifications

• Read, speak, and write English.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with shipping and/or receiving involving UPS, FEDEX, and a variety of transportation companies.
• Strong multi-tasking skills.
• Operate a fork truck safely.
• Lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted.
