Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments in alignment with production schedules and customer requirements.
Prepare, process, and maintain Bills of Lading and other required shipping and transportation documentation.
Process plant-to-plant transfers and ensure accurate documentation and system transactions.
Enter and maintain shipment information in the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other applicable systems.
Set up shipment loads, obtain spot bids when required, and coordinate carrier assignments.
Coordinate and monitor shuttle drivers to support timely movement of materials and finished goods.
Coordinate customer dunnage pickups and maintain accurate tracking and documentation.
Conduct and support cycle counts and inventory verification activities.
Perform trailer and glad-hand lock audits to support trailer security, safety, and compliance.
Maintain document control for shipping, transportation, and related warehouse activities.
Monitor completion of forklift inspection checklists and communicate equipment deficiencies to the appropriate warehouse personnel.
Maintain timely communication with customers, carriers, Customer Service, Production, Warehouse, and other internal departments regarding shipment status, changes, delays, and issues.
Monitor shipment performance and proactively identify and resolve transportation or scheduling issues.
Investigate shipment discrepancies, delays, shortages, damages, and other transportation-related issues and escalate when necessary.
Verify shipping information, quantities, product identification, and documentation for accuracy prior to shipment.
Support inventory accuracy by researching discrepancies and coordinating corrections with appropriate personnel.
Order and maintain necessary warehouse and shipping office supplies.
Assist with customer, carrier, and internal audits related to shipping, transportation, and inventory records.
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of customer, carrier, pricing, and shipment information.
Follow all company safety, environmental, quality, security, and regulatory requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
2–4 years of shipping, receiving, logistics, transportation, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
Experience coordinating freight carriers, transportation providers, or shuttle operations preferred.
Experience working with a Transportation Management System (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP, or similar logistics software preferred.
Technical Skills
Working knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including Bills of Lading, freight documentation, and shipment transactions.
Ability to accurately enter and maintain shipment, inventory, and transportation information in computer systems.
Working knowledge of transportation scheduling, carrier coordination, and freight management.
Ability to understand and interpret customer shipping requirements and production schedules.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Ability to analyze shipment information, identify discrepancies, and resolve routine transportation issues.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving quantities, weights, measurements, and inventory.
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
