Shipping & Receiving Inspector

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

1. Qualifications:

1.1. High school diploma or equivalent GED.

1.2. Basic Arithmetic skills in order to learn the measurements requirements.

1.3. Visibility of work requires attention to detail and basic computer skills.

1.4. Employee must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed.

2. Responsibilities:

2.1. Inspect products for conformity to company, API, and customer standards or specifications.

2.2. Mark products for identification.

2.3. Fill out the Daily Shipping and Receiving Inspection Report.

2.4. Follow all instructions as delegated by the Quality System.

2.5. Current knowledge and understanding of all relevant SOP’s.

2.6. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.

3. Activities:

3.1. Responsible to cooperate with all departments and customer personnel to ensure that products meet the required standards as set forth by the Quality System.

3.2. Ensure that all inspection gauges and instruments conform to proper standards.

3.3. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.

3.4. Other duties as assigned.

4. Authority and Obligation:

4.1. Has the authority to stop delivery of material if the material does not conform to the required standards.
