About You

We’re seeking a resulted-focused, innovative, self-driven and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as Temporary Shipping and Receiving Operator. Based out of Torrington, Connecticut, you will maintain the accuracy and integrity of shipping and receiving department services by verifying the count and the quality of all outgoing items while meeting lines shipped on time (LSOT) needs, and by immediately acting on and reporting discrepancies and quality issues to carriers, supervisor, team lead, and other impacted stakeholders

You will:

• Ensure items shipped meet full compliance and international air standardsby rigorously following international and domestic HazMat, IATA, and freighting regulations and documentation, then ensuring shipments and pallets are safe, secure, and correctly loaded
• Ensure shipped items meet delivery deadlines, and customer expectations by accurately completing carrier paperwork and bills of laden, and managing pickup times and delivery means
• Manage quality and precision of shipped ordersby verifying counts, quality of goods to be shipped, item labels, and receptacles fully match customer specs, and bringing discrepancies or concerns immediately to the attention of the appropriate P&F, Chem Ops, or Equipment Services manager
• Create dependable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) department recordsby performing transactional integrity through accurate input entries, and by executing key electronic transfers and search functions
• Meet department lines shipped on-time needs and metricsby maintaining dialog and order planning with the Production groups, and by maintaining optimal shipping planning and scheduling practices and priorities
• Maintain minimal damages and safe internal goods transportation practicesby secure handling, operation, and driving of forklifts and other powerlifting equipment, power jacks, jack lifts, and hand trucks
• Maintain a safe, healthy, clean, ergonomically sensitive productive workplaceby establishing and following best housekeeping practices for equipment, and by practicing and implementing safe lifting and loading techniques

You should have:

• High School diploma; associates degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in handling, shipping, and receiving of hazardous materials required
• IATA and HazMat certification preferred
• Must be comfortable using forklift and powerlifting equipment and jacks
• Some knowledge and experience working with ERPs; JD Edwards Enterprise-1 preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range.
