Job Description - Shipping and Receiving Specialist

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:


Working alongside our Customer Service, Outside Sales, and Warehouse teams from our Toledo, OH location, The Shipping/Receiving Specialist will collaborate with and offer support to all teams, helping to deliver exceptional service and support to our customers.  More specifically, the day-to-day responsibilities for this position include:



  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with new and existing customers in every interaction

  • Processing and assisting with customer pick-ups during designated hours

  • Engaging with customers via outbound activity including phone calls, emails, hand-written cards and other forms of communication

  • Providing customer support and timely problem resolution with regards to shipment tracking and delivery issues that may arise

  • Assisting with administrative work such as proper billing, shipping, and receiving

  • Creating raving fans of the Lumbermen’s brand through excellent customer service and quick resolutions.

  • Receiving inbound transfers and supplier freight. Checking all freight receiving for accuracy and completeness

  • Shipping coordination as well as checking loads going to customers for accuracy and completeness

  • Assisting CSR’s in answering phones and taking orders when a short staff situation arises

  • Ensure inventory is correct in Agility CRM system as well as physical counts.

  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



  • 2-5 years’ experience in a professional customer service environment

  • College degree preferred


REQUIRED SKILLS



  • Professional and friendly communication etiquette

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Dependable

  • Exhibits a desire to learn

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Approaches work with considerable energy

  • Self-starter/self-motivator

  • Ability to multitask


DESIRED SKILLS



  • Experience in Agility or similar ERP system

  • Building material exposure in wholesale or retail

  • Past shipping and receiving experience

  • Past Inventory management experience
