Job Description:
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day shipping and receiving operations within our warehouse. This includes overseeing the processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, managing inventory levels, operating RF scanners, using a forklift to organize goods, and working with our ERP system to ensure accurate inventory tracking and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
Shipping and Receiving:
- Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying orders and ensuring correct quantities and products are shipped.
- Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all shipments and receipts.
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers to ensure smooth logistics.
Inventory Management:
- Track and update inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and availability of stock.
- Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory with system data.
- Use RF scanners to monitor inventory in real time.
Forklift Operation:
- Safely operate a forklift to transport goods within the warehouse.
- Load and unload pallets and products in a safe and efficient manner.
ERP System Management:
- Use the ERP system to manage inventory updates, process orders, and generate reports.
- Ensure data entry is accurate and timely for inventory management and order fulfillment.
Quality Control:
- Inspect shipments for quality and completeness, ensuring all products meet company standards.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or issues to the supervisor and work to resolve them promptly.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other warehouse staff and departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Communicate effectively with shipping/receiving team members and other departments.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Experience with Forklift is required.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of inventory management and warehouse processes.
- Proficient in using ERP software to manage inventory and process orders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills. (Bilingual English + Spanish plus)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in a warehouse environment for extended periods.
