Shipping and Receiving Team Lead

Responsibilities

The Shipping and Receiving Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the loading dock operations at the Fence Production Facility. This hands-on role ensures all outbound shipments of finished goods are executed efficiently, securely, and accurately. The Team Lead will also help manage raw materials inventory, maintain dock organization, and support a safe, high-performing work environment while supporting team productivity.

Job Duties

• Oversee the safe, secure, and efficient loading of outbound trucks and trailers
• Ensure all outbound shipments via trucks/trailers contain the correct finished goods and meet required deadlines
• Communicate material shortages or issues in a timely manner to prevent shipment delays
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the loading dock to ensure safety and efficiency
• Coordinate with the Logistics Manager to align truck schedules with material availability
• Process job tickets using ERP software; scan and sort job documents accordingly
• Actively move inventory and raw materials in the yard as needed to monitor availability
• Provide high-level oversight and organization of raw materials and finished goods inventory
• Step in to support the loading dock team with raw materials handling when necessary

Requirements

• Forklift certification required; experience with front-end loader forklifts preferred
• Must possess or be able to pass DOT certification and obtain a DOT medical card (Non-Class A)
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Basic math skills and proficiency with measuring tape
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong professional communication skills
• Positive, proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work late hours or overtime during seasonal workload increases
