Our Home is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shipping/Receiving Technician on 1st shift. This role is responsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction and minimizing the risk of errors or issues with shipments. The typical schedule for this position is 7am to 3pm Monday-Friday.
Requirements
1-2 years related experience and training preferred, WMS and forklift experience a plus
Previous experience in shipping and receiving or quality assurance
Attention to detail and be a self-starter
Must be able to learn and understand the Warehouse and Production processes
Understanding of the food industry and safety standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel & WMS Systems
Basic Math Skills Required
Exceptional, grammar, writing, and documentation skills required.
Teamwork and communication skills required
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Detail-oriented and accurate in data entry and recordkeeping
Key Responsibilities
Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy.
Perform thorough inspections of all incoming raw materials and ingredients, assessing them against established quality parameters and specifications.
Evaluate products for defects, damages, or deviations from specified standards and take appropriate action based on findings.
Perform Gluten testing on incoming ingredients.
Carefully review and verify Certificates of Analysis (COA) for each shipment to ensure all materials meet predefined criteria and regulatory requirements.
Cross-check COA details with physical shipment characteristics to identify any discrepancies or quality issues.
Ensure that outgoing shipments are properly packaged and meet the required specifications
Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
Ensure proper labeling and packaging of outbound shipments
Identify and report any discrepancies or damages
Document and track all shipment inspection activities
Collaborate with Warehouse to resolve issues and ensure smooth shipment processes
Maintain organized records of shipping and receiving activities and communicate findings to management
Work closely with the purchasing and production departments to communicate quality issues and coordinate corrective measures.
Engage in regular discussions with suppliers and the logistics team to improve material quality and resolve any recurring problems.
Adhere to all safety protocols
