POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Works effectively and efficiently in a warehouse environment to schedule shipping and freight operations, including developing a working knowledge of warehouse organization and creating proper and detailed shipping documentation. Works with shipping team, warehouse team, and all Lou-Rich departments as necessary to ensure accuracy and timely shipments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Efficiently works within a busy shipping department.

· Effectively uses organization systems and IFS to locate and gather stock.

· Creates customer specific shipping documentation, labels, and supplies shipping information to required personnel.

· Initiates booking requests to shipping lines and/or customers either by phone, e-mail, or customer websites.

· Communicates with other shipping personnel about organization practices and customer requirements

· Problem solves for customers and suppliers about shipping routes, delayed items, and rush orders.

· Perform administrative duties including answering phones, updating records, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.

· Interacts with shipping leads and supervisor concerning pertinent information and issues.

· Maintain relationships within Lou-Rich, especially customer service, and with daily contacts providing information as requested.

· Keeps organized shipping records, including BOLs, pack slips, and customer specific instructions.

· Troubleshoots shipping issues and customer issues that pop up regularly; works to solve these administrative or organizational problems to increase warehouse and dispatch efficiency.

· Develops knowledge about freight and small package shipping regulations and practices including international shipments.

· Works well with shipping team to complete orders on time by following the shipper and instruction from customer service.

· Gains knowledge of customers websites, Nova Cura, and IFS to process shipments and obtain information as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Highschool Diploma or equivalent

· Strong computer skills including MS Outlook, Excel and Word.

· Experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment working in shipping/receiving is preferred or minimum 2 years customer service experience. 

· Detail oriented with high accuracy. 

· Strong organizational skills, and ability to set and prioritize goals. 

· Excellent interpersonal skills. 

· Must have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a responsible manner. 

· Ability to gain knowledge of ISO procedures as relevant to shipping processes.  

LOU-RICH TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

· Applicable training will be completed by following the syllabi (Human Resources, Safety, IFS – Time clock, IFS - Navigation, ISO, Inspection Hand Tools, Inspection Forms, CMM, and Technical) for each new hire and that will be verified by the Employee Orientation & Job Qualification form within the first 60 days of employment. Additional applicable training will be completed by following the individual’s assigned department training matrix.

· Follow training syllabus (Technical from above list). The effectiveness of training guidelines will be determined by employee knowledge and demonstration of learned concepts. Additional training after the first several weeks of on-the-job training will be determined by the Supervisor in preparation for them to operate on their own as needed. Any follow-up training will be evaluated and provided at the 60-day review or as deemed necessary for the position.
