Role Overview
Summary 
The Material Handler III (Cell Lead) performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of products within the facility under general supervision. This position will also be required to provide leadership and guidance to cell team members and enforce disciplinary action as required per company policies.
 


Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1.    Ensure fulfillment of picked, packed, and shipped orders within defined quality and productivity standards.
2.    Operate forklift, cherry picker, and reach truck according to safety guidelines.
3.    Ensure product is labeled in accordance with company or customer guidelines.
4.    Manage housekeeping/5S practices according to Company guidelines.
5.    Receive and put-away product from suppliers within defined quality and productivity standards.
6.    Use business supplied tools to drive problem solving and continuous improvement (8D, Kaizen, etc.).
7.    Understand department metrics and report cell metrics for use to drive performance to meet or exceed objectives.
8.    Recognize and engage short-term improvement opportunities in work flow through understanding operational needs.
9.    Resolve, report, and/or process discrepancies, claims, consolidation and other cell or department requirements.
10.    Demonstrate the ability to perform and train all Standard Operating Procedures for at least two other work cells as identified.
11.    Provide support as JDE Subject Matter Expert by training operators and trouble-shooting issues.
12.    Perform essential job duties and responsibilities at the Distribution Center and comply with all IMI conduct rules, safety, attendance, attitude, dress code, etc.
13.    Other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications 
Education and Experience 
1.    High School diploma or equivalent.
2.    Minimum 4 years general warehouse or related experience.
3.    Forklift and Cherry Picker Certification a plus.
4.    Supervisory experience a plus
 
Skills and Competencies
1.    Ability to operate a forklift and cherry picker according to OSHA requirements.
2.    Ability to continually lift 35 pounds and up to 40 pounds on occasion.
3.    Ability to stand continuously and/or walk for 8-12 hours per day with intermittent breaks.
4.    Ability to comprehend and communicate basic English, both verbally and written.
5.    Ability to perform general mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
6.    Self-motivated, proactive individual capable of working as a member of a team, and operating independently
7.    Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
8.    Ability to work in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.  
.  Computers and Technology
1.    Ability to use standard typing keyboard and mouse, and navigate through Windows based software.
2.    Experience with JD Edwards or similar MRP system required..

This position will be required to provide direction to team members and enforce disciplinary actions as required

•    Wrist-Finger Speed - The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
•    Extent Flexibility - The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs.
•    This position requires repeated movement.
•    Vision — the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
•    Hearing at 100% (or corrected)
•    Pulling/Pushing up to 400 pounds with assistance
•    Forklift Certified
•    Color recognition
