Job Description - Shipping Clerk

Job Description



As a Shipping Clerk, you will ensure quality products are shipped and delivered on time. The Shipping Clerk’s responsibilities will include the following:



Job Duties:



  • Identify all items with appropriate documents and labels.

  • Maintain open communication with inventory control and manufacturing personnel.

  • Troubleshoot and problem solve any errors and exceptions in the system that revolve around receiving and allocation.

  • Perform to established methods and standards, meeting or exceeding the department's safety, quality, and productivity goals.

  • Monitor all “hot” material movement between campuses and ensure all transactions are completed.

  • Allocate inbound materials to their proper location, including the warehouse, assembly line, and additional locations.

  • Verifies and keeps records on outgoing/incoming shipments, equipment, and materials, and prepares regular reports for managers

  • Offload, inspect, organize, and place merchandise in designated storage location by lifting items as necessary or operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods

  • Manages inventory, stocking program, and warehouse functions

  • Manages and initiates RMA’s/RGA’s as directed by the Manager.

  • Performs other duties as required by the Manager


  Required Qualifications:



  • Experience in shipping and receiving.

  • Able to lift 50 lbs multiple times a day

  • Able to climb a ladder

  • Knowledge of logistics procedures.

  • Computer Savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent organization and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask is a must.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    Education: HS Diploma or GED required
