Shipping Clerk/Forklift Operator

Job Summary: 

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing and organizing all outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy in orders, packaging, labeling, and documentation. You’ll work closely with the production team, bindery, pressroom, mailing, finishing teams to coordinate timely delivery of printed materials to customers.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Locate, package, or label for transport all material or product from different departments and deliver to another department.
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier guidelines.
• Verify and document outgoing shipments using packing lists and shipping software.
• Inspect products for quality before shipping.
• Schedule pickups with carriers and communicate shipping details to internal teams. 
• Review production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and recommends change or modifications. 
• Responsible for safeguarding product or material during transit. 
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment. 
• Maintain a consistent and positive attendance pattern.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Knowledge of shipping procedures.
• Basic computer skills and experience using shipping software or ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
• Fork-Lift experience needed and certified preferred. Will train the right candidate. 

Education and Experience: 

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Prior experience in shipping department preferably within the printing or manufacturing industry.
• 3-4 years of hands-on experience. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Standing- 50%, Walking-50%, Lifting- 25%-50%
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended period of times. 
• Must be able to move materials using a manual pallet truck 500lbs-750lbs.
• Ability to perform warehouse/manufacturing related tasks as needed (lifting up to 50 lbs., ability to move materials using a manual pallet truck 500-750 lbs. 

Job Type: Full Time
Shift Available & Schedule:  1st shift 8:00am-4:00pm
