SUMMARY

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and executing all shipping activities to ensure accurate, efficient and timely delivery of products to customers.  This role involves preparing shipping documents, verifying outgoing shipments, scheduling carriers and maintaining record in accordance with company policies and shipping regulations.  The Shipping Clerk works closely with warehouse, production and customer service teams to ensure order accuracy, inventory control and on time shipment performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Answer Phones
• Greet visitors
• Receive and sign for incoming freight
• Check shipping write up’s
• Check trucks in and out
• Keep log up for loaders
• Keep daily log on shipping rates
• Enter Shipping information on BOL’s PGI shipments
• Verify product on tuck and take pictures if Supervisor is gone
• Daily billing
• Balance totals to Bill edit List
• Prepare daily ship log to send out to CSR and AP
• Match up signed bol’s when invoices are received
• Fax copies of daily bol’s to Customer Service Representatives
• Enter production
• Prepare various spreadsheets regarding Production
• Help with monthly Inventory
• Keep inventory recap spreadsheet current
• Maintain files – customer, production, misc.
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position has a transitioning work environment.  Office/computer, manufacturing plant and outdoor environments are normal.  The noise level in the plant environment is usually high, as normal for a manufacturing plant.  Some of the work in the operating units may require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, fall protection, hard hats, etc.
