Shipping Clerk I - 2nd shift

General Position Overview 

This is an entry level shipping position where you will be performing various picking, packing, and shipping tasks for customer orders.  Taking care to pack every order right is the key to success for our shipping team. We want our customers to smile when they unpack a box or shipment you have packed, making our team the preferred team to work with, and giving you a reason to be proud of the work you do. Some shipments require very detailed customer work instructions, and most orders are unique as we have a wide variety of product shapes, sizes, and weights.  We provide general packing guidelines, teach you to apply our basic principles as you pack each order, and expect you to develop excellent workmanship to ensure our products are packed well. Most of your day is spent packing and handling boxes, occasionally you may use a pallet jack or forklift to move pallets around or load trucks. 

Essential Job Functions

• Pick, pack, and ship SoundOff customer orders. 
• Perform packaging & shipping functions independently. 
• Complete all tasks with a high level of quality and accuracy. 
• Proficient at operating department equipment. 
• Schedule flexibility early or late as to meet deadlines and/or customer requirements. 
• Interacts professionally with pickup drivers and customers during pickup. 
• Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements 

• High School Diploma. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. 
• Awareness of packaging, shipping, and labeling requirements for parcel and LTL shipments helpful. 
• Works quickly and accurately. 
• Proficient computer skills, familiarity with MS Windows products. 
• Use bar code scanners and software to maximize accuracy. 
• Independently follows verbal and written instructions efficiently. 
• Mechanical aptitude using department equipment including printers, computers, tapers, and more. 
• Willing and able to obtain a forklift license preferred. 
• Organized, Detailed, Deadline-Oriented, Dependable, Persistent, Independent. 
• Works well independently and within a team, supporting team members to accomplish all department work. 
• Professional and respectful conduct. 
• Open to change, eager to learn and improve. 
• Understand SoundOff policies, procedures, and systems. 
• Willing to assist and train others in department processes. 

Physical Requirements 

• Able to lift at up to 35 lbs.  
• Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.

• Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting 
• Required to work shift hours (four 10-hour days, or as determined to support business requirements) with occasional overtime; Monday-Thursday, 3:00pm-1:00am or as needed
