Shipping Coordinator

Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE: 

Coordinate all LTL, retail, and small package routing via most inexpensive transportation and via customer’s requests

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Check all customer’s orders for  accuracy and correct billing charges.
• Obtain quotes from LTL carriers  to determine most inexpensive means of transportation of product.
• Arrange retail customer carriers   pick up dates and times via customer retail software links and phone  contacts.
• Create bill of lading for each   customer’s order.
• Process shipping resolutions.
• Must have the ability to choose or decide about things in a clear and definite way without too much  hesitation or delay.
• Accountable for accuracy and  productivity.
• Should be able to adapt to last  minute change in scheduling.
• Responsible for informing picker  and Shipping Supervisor (if required) on any discrepancies that are  discovered on an order prior to loading onto trailer.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have basic math skills.
• Ability to work independently in an office environment      with little or no supervision.
• Must have a working understanding of all office      equipment and maintenance of the same.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions related to  customer orders and procedures.
• Ability to write fluent email correspondence to  customers and inter-company personnel.
• Ability to organize and file correspondence pertaining  to all billing.
