Job Description - Shipping Coordinator

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Receive, inspect, verify, and record incoming materials, parts, and shipments.
• Pick, stage, package, and prepare outgoing orders using electronic reports, pick lists, and shipping documentation.
• Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping orders.
• Coordinate shipments with freight carriers and resolve shipping discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials.
• Monitor inventory transactions and maintain accurate records using company inventory and shipping systems.
• Transport materials throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other material handling equipment.
• Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and support efficient warehouse operations.
• Assist in selecting cost-effective shipping methods while ensuring on-time delivery.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area while supporting 5S initiatives and following all safety and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately process shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions.
• Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
• Experience using shipping software and inventory management systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments


Preferred Skills/Abilities:
• Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or receiving operations.
• Forklift certification or the ability to successfully obtain certification.
• Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse best practices.
• Experience with ERP or inventory management software.


Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.


Physical Requirements:
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment after certification.
• Ability to work in both warehouse and manufacturing environments.


Additional Job Information:


• Typical Shift: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
