JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:- Manages shipping department employee
- Plan logistics of supply pickups
- Schedule deliveries to end user
- Track in route and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Inspect physical condition of the vehicles and shipping equipment according to checkup schedules and initiate appropriate actions to remedy unsatisfactory findings
- Communicate directly with customer and coworkers as necessary to answer questions and relay shipping updates and with any discrepancies
- Collaborate with sales team to ensure timely order fulfillment and accurate delivery
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers
- Facilitate and resolve shipping complaints
- *Other duties as signed by Sales Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATION INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:- Must have previous experience in shipping, logistics or warehouse management, including experience in a leadership or supervisory position
- Must have previous experience handling high volume inbound and outbound distributions
- Must have previous experience handling a significant amount of hot shot distributions
- Proficient in shipping class codes, customs shipments (Canada, overseas) and claims (shipping) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to stand, crouch and lift objects throughout a normal workday
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Moderate computer proficiency
