Job Summary

Picks all items to ship physically. Performs all system functions to confirm shipments.

Job Responsibilities

· Prepare all Bills of Lading and Address Labels for outbound shipments.

· Coordinate shipping requirements among all departments and loading of freight in Large Frames area. 

· Consolidate loads if possible, to reduce transportation costs.

· Effectively coordinate inter-plant shipments in a timely and accurate manner.

· Gather items on daily ship lists.

· Put away finished goods. 

· Sign off Bills of Lading.

· Operate computers and printers associated with Shipping.

· Prepare special paperwork for UPS/FedEx shipments, COD shipments, etc.

· Coordinate with LTL freight carriers for pick-ups.

· Coordinate special/rush orders with Sales to ensure timely shipment of those orders.

· Responsible for assisting with common carrier loading as necessary.

· Actively promote safety and accident prevention by continually observing all safety practices, rules and standards throughout each working day.

· Package exclusive loads. 

· Organize and maintain the area.

· Keep work area neat and organized.

· Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Education and Experience

· High School Diploma or GED required

· Previous Shipping experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Organization and time management skills. 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with some overtime varying.

· First shift core hours are: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm M-F. 

Physical Demands

This position will require an employee to be able to be in motion on a hard surface as well as sitting at a computer. Lifting, bending, and stretching will be frequent. Noise level of an average production floor.
