Shipping/Receiving Clerk

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team in a fast-paced boat manufacturing warehouse environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate and timely handling of inbound and outbound materials, parts, and finished boats. The ideal candidate will be organized, safety-conscious, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive incoming shipments of boat parts, materials, and supplies; verify accuracy against packing slips and purchase orders

• Inspect deliveries for damage, report discrepancies or issues to supervisors

• Log and track inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) or other software

• Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and loading finished boats and components

• Coordinate with freight carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping/receiving area

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations

• Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed

• Collaborate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1–2 years of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or marine environment

• Experience operating forklifts or the ability to obtain certification

• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or basic computer/data entry skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment

• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in boat manufacturing or marine industry

• Knowledge of freight documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing lists)

• Understanding of inventory control principles

Work Environment:

• Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and occasional outdoor conditions

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required
